Addressing Journalists in Osogbo, Osun State’s capital, the Acting Chairman of the OCSC, Comrade Abiodun Agboola condemned the arrest by the Police in Imo State and described it as a violation of the fundamental rights of the people who were arrested.

The Osun Civil Societies Coalition called on the Inspector-General of Police to look into the case as those arrested were activists of repute who were on a lawful duty as observers and not thugs as portrayed in the media.
Men of the Imo State Police Command had on Thursday November 14 paraded the men arrested at Disney Hotel along Onitsha-Owerri road.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Katsina said that the suspects were arrested after the Police got an intelligence report from strategic partners that there were some strange faces that entered the state in large number.
The Police claimed to have recovered from the group, 2 pump action guns, valid voter’s registration card of an Anambra indigene and 181 identity cards of Equity and Justice Election Observer Organization.
