Anambra Election: Voting Ends, Counting Ongoing Across The State


The Independent National Electoral Commission has started counting the votes cast after the voting ended in the 21 local government areas of the state during the goernorship election held in Anambra today (Saturday).
There were complaints of late arrival of voting materials in some places.
Our correspondent, Seun Okinbaloye reports that the election was conducted under a peaceful atmosphere. He further said that voters remained at the polling units to ensure that their votes count.
He also reports that some voter’s names were absent on the register.
There are 21 local governments in the Anambra state, with 326 registration centres, 4, 608 polling units and 1, 784, 536 registered voters.
