The coalition of Youth and Pressure Groups, South East zone, has concluded plans to honor President Goodluck Jonathan and Abia State Governor Theodore Orji at a solidarity/endorsement rally in Umuahia on January 31.
The event, which is slated to hold at Ibeku High school, Umuahia, is a way of supporting and urging the two leaders to continue with their good works.
Speaking during a courtesy visit on the Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, leader of the delegation, Chucks Ibegbu, said an indepth study shows that the transformation agenda of President Jonathan and the legacy programme of Chief Orji are on course.
Mr. Ibegbu disclosed that the event will attract major stakeholders in Igboland and also feature speeches.
In his address, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Chief Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said that the occasion which will be chaired by Elder Emma Adaelu, will offer opportunity for the South East people to endorse President Jonathan for re-election in 2015.
He called on Abians to troop out en masse to honour the nation’s leader.
Responding, CPS to the Governor, Mr. Charles Ajunwa thanked the group for their thoughtfulness.
According to him, “the state government places premium on the youth and this is evident in its successful empowerment programme.”
He further assured that the current administration will not relent in ensuring that Abians enjoy the dividends of democracy..
