The CDC has reportedly confirmed the contact.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that Vinson called the agency several times before flying, saying that she had a fever with a temperature of 99.5 degrees. But because her fever wasn’t 100.4 degrees or higher, she didn’t officially fall into the group of “high risk” and was allowed to fly.
We can’t assume that Ebola is not contagious before the infected person is symptomatic, but all evidence supports the fact that at the very first onset of symptoms, the patient is most definitely contagious.
This nurse apparently tried to notify the CDC that she had begun running a fever but was still instructed that she could fly on a public airline.
Given this new information, we should all be very concerned about the status of all those that came in contact with Amber Vinson both in Cleveland and the 132 people she was with on the flight to Dallas.
Those possibly exposed also includes a local elementary school who had to alert parents today that one of their students had been on the same flight and then attended classes on both Tuesday and Wednesday with other children.
Mad World News will continue to report any updates as we receive them.
