Brazil man 'confesses to 39 murders'

A 26-year-old Brazilian security guard has confessed to killing 39 people. Police say Thiago Henrique Gomes da Rocha approached his victims on a motorbike, targeting homeless people, women and homosexuals.
He was arrested in the city of Goiania by police investigating a string of unexplained murders.
Police describe the suspect as "cold" and say he acted out of an inner "fury" that he felt "against everything", which only subsided when he committed murder.
"We have been shocked by his coldness," a police official said.
The official said the killer labelled his victims by the numbers 1 to 39 and never knew those he targeted.
Police said he felt remorseful after he committed murder which only added to his anger.

Investigators said they were examining evidence, including security footage and weapons seized from his home.
Gomes da Rocha is also being investigated over 90 robberies of shops, pharmacies and lottery outlets.
