High-Profile Republican Under Armed Protection After ISIS Death Threats

This week, a high-profile Republican was placed under armed protection after receiving ISIS death threats. Michelle Bachmann is now under a 24-hour protection by a security detail after she the Congresswoman received an online threat by the Islamic terror group.

Bachmann made herself the target after being publicly critical of ISIS, and calling for war on the Islamic State in her Value Voter’s Summit speech in Washington on September 26:

“It’s because we have jihadists who are subscribing to this radical ideology that believes that dying in the name of Islam gets them to heaven. This is spiritual warfare, and what we need to do is defeat Islamic jihad.”

She went on to call out Obama, who recently stated that the Islamic State was “not Islamic,” giving the president some advice on how to combat the terror group:

“Sadly, our president has the wrong prescription. He even failed to acknowledge their motivations for bringing about jihad. Yes, Mr. President, it is about Islam. And I believe that if you have an evil the order of this magnitude, you take it seriously. You declare war on it, you don’t dance around it, just like the Islamic State has declared war on the United States of America. You kill their leader, you kill their council, you kill their army until they wave the white flag of surrender. That’s how you win a war.”

Recently, Bachman introduced a legislation that would strip citizenship from all Americans who join ISIS.
Despite the danger, it’s so great to see someone who isn’t afraid to speak up and call out evil when they see it. She will remain under protection by armed security until some point in January when she retires from office. Let’s pray she stays safe after that!
