JLaw Responds To Scandalous Photo Leak: “Its a Sex Crime!”

Rebbeca Brown
As pretty much the whole internet knows, some rather revealing photos of Jennifer Lawrence, the beautiful actress best known for her role in The Hunger Games, were leaked not too long ago. The photographs were stolen illegally from the cloud she was using to store them, before being shared online with millions of people. It may have taken a little while for Jennifer Lawrence to speak up, but what she has said will certainly touch a nerve. In her interview with Vanity Fair, she talks about those who stole the photos, those who have shared the photos and even those who have looked at the photos. Read on to find out more about what Jennifer Lawrence has to say.

“It’s my body, and it should be my choice”

Many people started blaming Jennifer Lawrence when the photos were initially leaked, saying that she shouldn’t have taken them in the first place. However, one of the most poignant parts of the interview is when the actress talks about how it is her body and therefore it should be her choice, whether she decides to take nude pictures or not. She says that the fact it was no longer made her choice is “absolutely disgusting”, referring to how the photos were stolen and leaked across the internet. She goes onto say that being in the public eye does not mean that she has asked for any of this negative attention to come her way. She goes as far as to say that she cannot believe “we even live in that kind of world”. She speaks for the numerous celebrities who were also involved in the hacking scandal, which saw the likes of Rihanna and Kate Upton also have their privacy invaded. The pictures were all in compromising positions, most fully naked, and were shared on sites such as 4Chan and Reddit. The incident is one of the biggest celebrity hacking catastrophes in history and has led to pleas for more privacy, from celebrities, charities, organizations and internet groups. Many cannot believe that the supposedly protected ‘cloud servers’ could have been hacked into, in such a way.
