[WATCH] Christian’s Charity for Children Ruthlessly MOCKED on Popular Show

In a failed attempt at humor, Saturday Night Live tried to resuscitate their ratings by poking fun at a popular Christian charity fund that benefits children in third world countries with donations “as little as a cup of coffee.”
Comedic actor Bill Hader played the part of ChildFund’s long-time spokesman Alan Sader, while mimicking the late-night infomercial that asks for monetary support to cover food, water, and medicine for impoverished children.
“How you gonna save our lives with only 39 cents?” a cast member dressed as a poor villager asks. Which is the premise of the entire sketch, setting the tone from the beginning that the Christian group’s efforts are ridiculous and in vain.
The sketch mocks Sader’s request for the small chunk of change by pretending that the amount is offensive to the villagers who are the fund’s benefactors. Impoverished townspeople in the comedy act wonder why the spokesperson is pitching such a low amount. “Ask for more,” one whispers on camera. “Why you starting so low?”
Unrest begins to brew among the villagers who are increasingly more upset at the low donation amount shouting, “Start higher!” The pseudo Sader tries to convince them that “caring and educated” people came up with the amount and they should be more appreciative, but to no avail. The charity’s face man ends up surrounded by the villagers, berated, and ultimately taken hostage. An angry female shouts the ransom into the camera:
If you want to see this cheap-ass white man again, you better send us $200 cash right now!
The SNL cast members can laugh all they want at the expense of struggling folks in third world countries and the caring people who help them, but these over-paid actors would be better served putting their money where their mock is.
