Every year, millions of Muslims travel across the globe
during Hajj to visit Islam’s holiest city, but this year was different
from any other. As they participated in “stoning the Devil,” a tragedy
of Biblical proportions unfolded right before their eyes.
CNN
reports that as millions descended upon Mecca in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims
in the tent city of Mina, which is just outside the holiest city in
Islam, participated in a ritual called “stoning the Devil” – a
re-enactment of when their prophet Abraham stoned the Devil and resisted
his temptations, according to Islamic traditions. However, this year
something happened during the ceremony that caused the crowd of
thousands to freak out, and the following surge ended up killing
hundreds of people with the body count still rising.
“We have a stampede accident in Mina, and civil defense is
dealing with it,” said Brig. Gen. Mansour al-Turki, an Interior Ministry
spokesman.
Just 13 days ago, a crane incident, which many believed to
be an “Act of God,” killed over a hundred people at the Grand Mosque in
Mecca, as Mad World News
reported. But the death toll in that incident pales in comparison to
Thursday’s stampede of Muslims, which at last count had killed over 700
people and injured more than 800.
Numbers of the dead have been climbing steadily and are
expected to continue to rise as some 4,000 workers attempt to respond to
the disaster, which is considered to be the deadliest in Mina since
1990. Back then, a similar stampede killed over 1,400 people.
Video of the aftermath shows the carnage that took place
after a disturbance near a pedestrian bridge caused the crowd to surge,
creating the deadly stampede.

While the actual cause of the stampede is unknown, Saudi
Arabia’s health minister blamed “undisciplined pilgrims” for failing to
follow instructions, Gulf News reported.
Health Minister Khaled Al Falih was quoted by Al Ekhbariya television as saying “many pilgrims move without respecting the timetables” established by authorities, which was the “principal reason for this type of accident”.
“If the pilgrims had followed instructions, this type of accident could have been avoided,” he said.
Between the incident earlier this month with the crane and
now nearly a thousand Muslims being killed on the day of Islam’s most
important feast, Eid Al Adha, it’s hard to overlook the symbolism behind
these events as something other than punishment for the atrocities
carried out in the name of Muhammad. Anybody, who knows anything of the
Quran, knows that it teaches hatred, intolerance, and even terror.
It appears as if the true God is releasing his wrath upon the cult of death per Romans 1:18,
which reads, “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against
all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by
their wickedness.”
Sounds about right to me.
