Amid the controversy surrounding Ahmed the clock bomb builder bringing his clock hoax bomb
to school, another controversy has also been burning up the liberal
media as an example of rampant Islamophobia in America – Dr. Ben Carson
saying he doesn’t believe Islam to be compatible with our Constitution.
The left has been trying to rip him apart for it, but he just saw an
unintended consequence that he’s probably liking a lot.
Michelle Jesse, a writer for Allen West,
pointed out the glaring hypocrisy of the left by giving Barack Obama a
pass on his never-ending derogatory comments about Christians, negative
references about the Crusades,
and claims that Jim Crow laws and slavery were “justified in the name
of Christ.” However, Carson, who was commenting on a purely hypothetical
question that was asked as a trap by a liberal host, is being torn
apart for his remarks, despite the fact that he’s correct – Islam is in
no way, shape, or form compatible with our Constitution.
But despite the left’s attempt to destroy one of the leading
GOP candidate’s campaign for the presidency, something truly incredible
has happened in the wake of Carson’s comments. The Washington Times
is reporting that rather than the intended effect – Carson losing
donors and people being outraged – he’s seeing an increase in donations.
Retired neurosurgeon and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson said Wednesday the fundraising dollars have been flowing in, as a super PAC supporting his candidacy reported a surge in donations since his remarks Sunday about whether he would support a Muslim for president.“I mean, the money’s been coming in so fast, it’s hard to even keep up with,” Mr. Carson said on Fox and Friends. “I remember the day of the last debate, within 24 hours we had raised a million dollars, and it’s coming in at least at that rate, if not quite a bit faster.”The show also played clips of people criticizing Mr. Carson for his remarks.“My reaction to anyone is that I never said that a person could not run for office. I just said I wouldn’t support them,” he said. “Do I not have a right to support what I want to support?”
So while the left had hoped that this “gotcha” question
would be enough to derail Carson or at least set him back some, it
appears to have done the opposite. Although, it shouldn’t surprise
anybody that his honesty caused him to get a surge of support. Just look
at GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and his brazen style – people love him
because he’s honest, and he doesn’t cave to political correctness. It
looks like Carson is catching onto it.
