Emoji fan? People who use lots of emojis in texts have more sex

Use a lot of emojis in your messages? Then you’re much more likely to have a better sex life.
A survey of 5,600 single online daters claims that around 36 to 40 per cent of people who think about sex several times a day are more likely to use more than one emoji in every text they send.
Those who say they think about sex less often said they still use emojis pretty regularly – but not in all of their messages.
And, according to the Match.com report, people who suppress their sexual desires rarely ever use smileys.

And emoji users were also more likely to have actually had sex – around 54 per cent of people who used the smileys said they had sex in 2014, compared to 31 per cent of non-emoji fans.
To be clear, we’re not just talking about the aubergine, banana, tongue, water splash… (You get the idea). The survey covered the use of all emojis – even the non-phallic ones.
Although it did find that, unsurprisingly, the winky face was the favourite – followed closely by the standard smiley face and the kissing face.

‘Here we have a new technology that absolutely jeopardizes your ability to express your emotion,’ Dr Helen Fisher, biological anthropologist at Rutgers University who helped lead the study, told Time.
‘There is no more subtle inflection of the voice – and so we have created another way to express emotions, and that is the emoji.’
