Girl, 14, raped by gang of three men in Harrogate park

A teenage girl was snatched and raped by a gang of men in a park in Harrogate in the early hours of the morning, police said.
The 14-year-old was grabbed by three men and taken to a wooded area in the town’s Valley Gardens where she was subjected to the attack at 4am on Tuesday.
Officers are at the scene near Harlow Moor Road where they are ‘carrying out extensive investigations and offering the victim support’, North Yorkshire Police said.
Police this afternoon said one man had been arrested.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Ellis said: ‘We’re continuing to provide specialist support to the victim today.
‘I’d like to emphasise that investigations remain ongoing and the public’s help is vital, so we’d urge anyone with any information to come forward.
‘We realise the incident will cause a great deal of concern in the local community. But I’d like to reassure residents that we are doing everything possible to investigate this incident while providing a strong police presence in the community.’
