He was annoying, he was overweight, he was a real bully.
But now actor Harry Melling, 26, who played Dudley, is all grown up and he’s changed a lot.
The star has taken a different path to Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
Today, he appeared on Lorraine to promote his new West End show Hand To God.
Melling plays a troubled American teen, who is a member of a puppet club run by a Texan Lutheran church in the show, which is running at the Vaudeville theatre.
Talking about his former Harry Potter co-stars to the Economist, he said: ‘I’m very happy they’re doing what they’re doing but I wouldn’t compare myself to them.
‘The thing with [having played] Dudley is that you get a call every now and again going, “We’re looking for a really fat, rattish guy.” And then my agent has to go, “Oh no, sorry, he’s changed.”

The role of Dudley was almost recast for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 because Melling had lost so much weight but he ended up filming with a fat suit.
Looking good, Harry!
