‘I hate Muslims’: Taxi driver records customer throwing racist abuse at him

This is the shocking moment a taxi driver was racially abused by an angry passenger.
The victim filmed the incident on his mobile phone after picking up the man and two of his friends in Derby city centre at around midnight on December 30 last year.
Just minutes after they set off, one of passengers launched his unprovoked tirade, telling the driver ‘every sane-thinking person in this country hates Muslims’.
The 58-year-old driver – who has asked to remain anonymous – can be heard desperately trying to diffuse the situation as the foul-mouthed abuse escalates.
The other two passengers say nothing throughout the incident.

In the 40-second video, the driver asks: ‘Why are you being racist?’
He replies: ‘I’m being racist because I hate Muslims. We hate you do you know that?’
‘Every sane-thinking white person in this country hates Muslims. I know we dress it up like we don’t give a s***. We all hate you lot.
‘F*** off back to Syria or wherever you f***ing belong.’

The footage has been passed to Derbyshire Police who have launched an appeal to find the culprit.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: ‘We have circulated the image of the man and the footage to our officers.
‘We welcome the footage being circulated more widely as we seek to identify the passenger.’
