Mairead Philpott finally shows regret for killing her six children

A woman who helped start a fire which killed six of her children has finally shown remorse.
Letters seen by The Sunday People reveal that Mairead Philpott feels ‘raw’ about the deaths, four years after it happened.
She helped husband Mick and friend Paul Mosley start the fatal fire, in a bid to frame Mick’s mistress.
Since it happened she has shown no regret, and denied the crime throughout her trial.
Philpott is currently serving a 17 year sentence for manslaughter following the fire, which ended the lives of the children aged between five and 13.

Witnesses said he tried to save the children from the blaze. He and his wife have since been CHARGED WITH FOUND GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER with murder.

In a letter to a penpal, the Sunday People reports she wrote: ‘Talking about my children is something I haven’t come to terms with. It’s still too raw.
‘They are the first thing I think about every single day I wake up and the last thing I think about when I go to bed.
‘But I’m working through it and have amazing friends here trying to help me.’
And she added: ‘They live with me every day. They are my babies.’

The children died in the fire in Derby
Philpott had a threesome with her co-defendants on the night of the fire, and had sex with her husband while son Duwayne, 13, was fighting for his life.
After a press conference in which they appealed for help to catch the killers, she also performed a sex act on Mosley.
Killed in the fire were children Duwayne, 13, Jade, 10, John, nine, Jack, seven, Jesse, six, and Jayden, five.
