Major search underway to find couple missing on Ben Nevis

A major search operation is underway to find two climbers who have gone missing on Ben Nevis.
Tim Newton, 27, and Rachel Slater, 24, had been climbing the mountain in Scotland last weekend.
The couple, from Bradford, are believed to have been camping below its north face in a green tent behind the Charles Inglis Clark (CIC) memorial hut.
Search on Ben Nevis for Missing Climbers As part of ongoing searches for two missing climbers in the Ben Nevis area, Police in Fort William are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area over the weekend to make contact. Concern was raised yesterday afternoon (Monday 15th February 2016) for Rachel Slater (24) and Tim Newton (27) from the Bradford area. It is believed the couple camped in the vicinity of the CIC hut in a green tent and would have been wearing climbing gear, similar to the photo attached. Searches by Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team took place last night with further searches underway today with additional resources. Anyone who was climbing or walking in the Ben Nevis area over the weekend and saw the couple is urged to contact 101

The pair are reportedly experienced climbers and are thought to have been in full climbing gear.

Concerns were raised over the couple’s whereabouts yesterday afternoon with the search continuing today.

We are looking for some assistance in respect of two missing climbers on Ben Nevis. Can anyone who was climbing/walking on Ben Nevis over the last weekend may have seen a couple in their 20's who were camped in green tent immediately behind the CIC hut.
