The woman, identified only by her surname Wong, is from Hong Kong but had traveled to the city of Shenzhen to have the low-cost plastic surgery operation.
During a consultation before the surgery, medical staff told her that she had small eyes along with small breast syndrome.
But during the operation, the mother-of-one tragically died after doctors encountered problems with the anesthetic.

He had taken Wong to the clinic for the late morning operation and sat in the waiting room from 10:30am until 5pm.
When doctors came out, they explained there were complications with the surgery and then added that she had died.

The doctor in charge of the operation, Xie Jun, had already left the clinic when the family wanted to speak to him and they have accused the management of trying to cover up what happened.
The family have demanded to see video footage from the operating theatre but the hospital claims there is no such footage.
The cause of death will be confirmed following post-mortem examinations.
