Maria “Angie” Resio (left), Stranger who shows up (right)
Over the last five years, a Texas mother filed almost a
dozen police reports of various kinds of abuse, desperate to get her
daughter’s father behind bars. Child protective services did nothing, so
her only recourse to the alleged abuse her young daughter endured was
to keep reporting to police. Then, a stranger showed up one afternoon,
shocking her with what he had to show her.
Maria “Angie” Resio despised the man who fathered her child.
After what she said continued to take place behind closed doors, nobody
could blame her for her ill feelings toward him. She said that all she
wanted was to protect her child, yet the very agency in place in the
state to help her with that, Child Protective Services (CPS), refused to
do anything.
From the start of her child’s life, Resio filed a total of
ten police reports against her baby daddy. She accused him of everything
from neglect, physical abuse, and even sexual abuse, but nobody seemed
to take her seriously, despite the dire nature of the reports. She
begged and pleaded with authorities to stop this monster, but years went
by as nothing was done, until finally she was arrested, not the
father, ABC13 reported.
Resio took her child to a park one afternoon, when a strange
man approached her with paperwork. To the mother’s shock, she was being
served for making false claims of abuse. While she thought that
protective services hadn’t been doing their job, they were in fact
investigating the mother’s claims along the way and determined that all
the allegations were fabricated. With absolutely no evidence of abuse of
any kind, it was determined that her intentions were to cut the father
out of her child’s life, and she was abusing the system to make it
happen. Worse yet was what the father faced in the aftermath of her
psychopathic revenge.
“It’s devastating,” longtime family law attorney Lauren
Waddell told the news station about what could happen to the innocent
father, who has an uphill fight against a mother’s word being presumed
right, until proven otherwise. “It’s very detrimental to the case for
one, but it could be devastating to that particular parent socially,
financially. They could possibly lose their job, lose their child,
temporarily or forever,” Waddell explained.
This deplorable woman needs to be punished to the full
extent of the law for putting a father’s rights and livelihood in
danger, but more importantly, for making a mockery of an important
program. Children who are actually abused and mothers, family members,
and friends making claims and seeking justice for these victims could be
discredited further than they already are by people like Resio putting
everything stated into question.
It’s hard enough to get CPS to take action that helps
children, when too often, they give parents the benefit of the doubt,
instead of kids. This abuse of the system needs to be taken seriously,
so that fathers who want to be good parents aren’t stripped of that
right because of a crazy ex, and mothers who put their kids in danger
should get what they deserve — jail time.
