A mother was only uncovered as a sex worker after her dead body was discovered in a flat in Aberdeen.
A 25-year-old man, Bala Wadzani Chinda, has appeared in court charged with the murder of the woman, who police believe to be 37-year-old Jessica McGraa.
He made no plea or declaration when he appeared at the Scottish city’s Sheriff Court, and has been remanded in custody ahead of another court appearance next week.
Jessica allegedly left her six-year-old son at home in London while she took a two day trip to work in Aberdeen.

She kept the nature of her work private, and her friends and ex-husband were shocked to find out she worked as a prostitute.
Gareth McGraa, a 56-year-old oil worker, told the Daily Record he thought she was making money solely by selling hair extensions.

‘I honestly believed that she was making her money from hair extensions,’ he said. ‘She was a very pious girl – she dragged me to church even, and that’s not easy.’
And a close friend of Jessica said: ‘I thought she was a dancer in clubs. I had no idea what was really going on… But it doesn’t change my opinion of her.’

Jessica, who also went by the names Ebony Bianca, Kelly West and B Bianca, wrote that she offered the ‘ultimate girlfriend experience’ on the Adult Work website.

On her profile, she posted topless photos of herself with her face blurred out.
‘My face is covered to protect myself as I’m ultra-discreet,’ she wrote. ‘I have my regular job and a private life. Do be polite when you call me.’

Her Facebook page was full of photographs with her son, who she described as the ‘love of my life’.
‘None of us will die unfulfilled,’ she wrote in one post. ‘We all shall make a formidable impact in this world.’
