The jail would hold all 131 Islamist inmates convicted of terror offences in a single secure unit.
The plan is reportedly supported by a review commissioned by Justice Secretary Michael Gove.

In his speech, he said he would ‘not stand by’ and watch the 1,000 or so inmates be radicalised.
The Ministry of Justice has denied plans to create such a prison but ministers are expected to back the idea of segregating them, in an approach similar to the French penal system.

The prison would hold notorious terrorists currently serving sentences such as Mohammed Rehman and Ahmed Khan, who both planned to kill hundreds of civilians by blowing up Westfield shopping centre and the London Underground.
Those against the ‘British Alcatraz’ are concerned that putting all radicals in one prison would create a central point for protest, like Guantanamo Bay.
A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: ‘No plans for a single prison for terrorist prisoners are under discussion or form part of any review.’
