Now
that ISIS has taken over and established strict Sharia law, this young
Syrian victim of warfare would most likely to be arrested and fined than
receive immediate medical treatment.
After a close call with a terrifying bombing, several women
crawled from the rubble and ran to safety. However, when Muslim
authorities encountered the injured women, they took one look at them
and immediately took them into custody.
As the women miraculously escaped death from Russian
airstrikes in a town controlled by the Islamic State, militant police
were less worried about the innocent civilians’ condition, and more
concerned with what they had — or better yet, what the didn’t have.
Al Bawaba
reports that as the bombing victims attempted to flee the
life-threatening airstrikes in a residential area of al-Muhasan, Syria,
Islamic authorities saw that they were not wearing their proper veils.
Whether the face coverings were lost in the attacks or perhaps that the
women simply did not have time to put them on if they wanted to survive,
the militants only cared that the victims were inexcusably violating
strict Sharia law.
The female offenders managed to cheat death, but they were
immediately arrested, detained, and ultimately fined them one gram of
gold for revealing their aurat,
an Arabic term literally translating to “nakedness” in a shameful way,
but often derogatorily used to describe a woman’s sinful form
altogether.
As
constricting and oppressive as this medieval garb is, ISIS would see
its wearers as the equivalent of prostitutes. Women under the Islamic
State are now required to wear double layers, loose veils, and gloves.
To ensure that no form or hint of skin shows, ISIS has
forced women to wear baggy abayas, double-layered veils, and thick
gloves. If even the eyes of a woman are seen in public, she is in danger
of being fined, lashed, or even executed.
Of course, punishments for veil negligence encompass a variety of sickening torture. Mad World News previously reported that women who showed their eyes in Raqqa and Mosul had acid poured on their faces for breaking Sharia law.
In order to keep women in line, ISIS recently created an all-female brigade
to enforce brutal Islamic tactics. These patrols allow men to remain
segregated from women during the arrest and torture of alleged law
breakers. One girl was whipped and abused for 6 hours for wearing veils that consisted of only one layer.
The
all-female unit of ISIS has been known to use the medieval breast
ripping device called the “biter” to prevent women from nursing their
babies in public.
This type of brutality extends not only to adult offenders, but to innocent children as well. ITV reports that after
an ISIS militant overheard a woman threatened in the heat of the moment
that she would kill her 13-year-old son if he didn’t start obeying, the
official followed her home and forced her to make good on her promise.
Not only are we at war with Islamic terror, we are at war
with the ideology itself. Since the Islamic Prophet Muhammad beheaded
his first Jew and proclaimed that he had “been made victorious through
terror,” Muslims have obeyed Allah’s command to fight the unbelievers
until they are subdued and all the world is for Allah. Until we
understand that this brutality is not only fundamental in Islam, but
also relentless, we will continue to take baby steps towards the same
brutal Sharia law that ISIS has established.
