Anyone planning half-term activities next week will need to include thermals on their checklist as the UK is likely to experience the coldest weather of this winter.
Daytime temperatures could struggle to reach 1°C, even in London and the South East.
Already this week, temperatures have plummeted with the Scottish mountains getting a dusting of snow and the south feeling a noticeable chill in the air the weekend begins.
But next week, bitterly cold air from Scandinavia is expected to push daytime temperatures even lower.
‘Next week could bring the coldest daytime temperatures of the winter so far for many parts of the country,’ says weatherweb.net meteorologist Dr. Simon Keeling.
‘Despite daffodils being in bloom, don’t be fooled into thinking spring has arrived!’
