The Rolling Stones are reportedly under armed guards 24-hours a day after an employee was shot dead at a concert in South America.
The ageing rock band are currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and have been travelling through some of the area’s most dangerous kidnapping and gun hot spots in separate cars with top-level security.
Pedro Luis Tabares, a 55-year-old contractor, was killed at the La Plata stadium in Argentina over an alleged attempt to steal the drinks takings for that night’s performance, and sources claim that the Stones are now under a ‘military precision’ protection plan.
The shooting took place as three cars attempted to intercept a van carrying the money and Pedro was a passenger in the van as it left the stadium in the early hours of the morning.
The Argentinian police believe an insider had tipped off the criminals as they knew the van’s route and timings.
A 31-year-one Colombian, named locally as Jhon Alexander Bobadilla Vega, was arrested.
