If 2015 was the year of body-shaming, let’s make 2016 the year we put a stop to it.
Because when women are being shamed for just for daring to try on clothes, the world has really become a strange and horribly unkind place.
Shiann Friesen – the vlogger behind ShiCurves – was doing some shopping in U.S. shop Walmart when she was subject to some truly appalling treatment from one of the store’s employees.
Shiann had picked up a bunch of clothes to try on. On her way to the changing room, the unnamed employee took the clothes out of Shiann’s hands and told her not to ‘push it’.
When asked to clarify what she meant, that same employee said: ‘Just don’t try to put on something that’s obviously not going to fit [..] Just don’t stretch it. That’s all I’m asking.’
Smart vlogger that she is, Shiann quickly turned on her camera and filmed the exchange. She turned off the camera once the employee noticed it, but managed to capture the major body-shaming moment.
