5 Of the Most Cringe-Worthy Things Justin Beiber Has Ever Said

Who has two thumbs and as much talent for putting his foot in his mouth as he does for making music?  While there are any number of candidates who fit that description, there’s nobody with quite the skill for the SMH quote as Justin Bieber.  Here are four occasions he got it so badly wrong, and one where he just about redeemed himself for every WTF moment in his entire career:
1. His staggeringly awful message in the guestbook at Anne Frank House in Amsterdam:
“Truly inspiring to be able to come here.  Anne was a great girl.  Hopefully she would have been a Belieber.”
Well, those are his thoughts on history. Kinda obvious why this one tops the list.
2. Does he have anything to say about science, maybe?
“Science makes a lot of sense. Then I start thinking—wait, the ‘big bang.’  For a ‘big bang’ to create all this is more wild to think about than thinking about there being a God.  Imagine putting a bunch of gold into a box, shaking up the box, and out comes a Rolex.”
Oh.  Okay.

3. Any profound thoughts on his own career?
“I was found on YouTube.  I think I was detrimental to my own career…instrument.”
We’re not sure even Justin fully knows what he means there.
4. And who could forget the monkey?
“I’ve made myself so unrelatable the past year with all that stuff that I was doing.  Not even bad stuff sometimes, just outrageous stuff.  Like, you got a monkey, what are you doing?”
Has anyone asked the monkey for a sound bite, I wonder?
5. And then he goes and redeems himself.
When he discovered that ‘Love Yourself’ was on target to beat the NHS choir’s ‘A Bridge Over You’ for the coveted UK Christmas number one slot, he tweeted “So for 1 week it’s ok not to be #1. Let’s do the right thing & help them win. It’s Christmas. NHS Choir, good luck,” encouraging his fans to buy the charity single.
It did the trick.
Good on you, Justin.  We’re all entitled to a bout of foot-in-mouth.
