From this moment on, Ashton Kutcher will know better than to get into a Twitter spat with Shania Twain.
The actor and producer’s new Netflix comedy, The Ranch,
debuted on Friday, and the show includes several jokes about the singer
and other north-of-the-border celebs as Kutcher’s character, Colt
Bennett, has just returned home to his family’s ranch after playing
semi-pro football in Saskatoon.
In the show’s first episode, Colt recalls an
encounter that began with him sliding “balls head first into Miss
Shania” and ended with him showing the singer his “Twain.” On Friday
afternoon, Kutcher took to Twitter to apologize to the Canadian
songstress for the off-color jabs.
“Apologies again, Miss @ShaniaTwain. I had no
inhibitions, made no conditions and definitely got out of line,” the
38-year-old actor quipped, referencing Twain’s 1997 hit “Man! I Feel
Like a Woman!”
“@aplusk next time you’re lonely, don’t call on
me,” Twain replied, citing her 1995 single “Whose Bed Have Your Boots
Been Under.” “Try the operator, maybe she’ll be free. @theranchnetflix.”
Kutcher retweeted the singer’s reply, adding one last lyrical reference: “Note to self: Shania Twain… not easily impressed.”
We have to admit, we are a little impressed by Kutcher’s encyclopedic knowledge of Twain’s songbook!
