Nestled in the heart of Oregon wine country, new boutique winery Domaine Divio shares its French heritage. Owner Bruno Corneaux, is a fourth-generation Burgundian winegrower/winemaker who chose the Willamette Valley to start his winery after a career working around the world.
It was the summer working as a harvest intern at Domaine Drouhain in 1996 that inspired a love of Oregon wine country. Returning to the Willamette Valley in 2012, the dream of owning vineyards and producing his own wine became a reality.
The location in the Ribbon Ridge AVA was selected with care and vineyards now occupy 12-acres of the total 23-acre parcel. They utilize biodynamic farming practices incorporating native plants and beneficial insects to the vineyard management. Their philosophy is to use the least amount of intervention in the vineyard in order to respect the land and reflect the true expression of the grapes.
Domaine Divio takes its name from Gallic meaning gathering place. Their tasting room is a rustic barn-like structure utilizing wood and stone, designed by Bruno himself. The stone fireplace is a beautiful focal point of the tasting room. Sliding doors open wide to allow the outdoors to be enjoyed inside. The result is a welcoming space with an abundance of daylight and views to better enjoy the wine.

Domaine Divio tasting flight includes a sample of four wines beginning with a 2013 Willamette Valley Chardonnay
with mineral characteristics and a hint of caramel. This pairs
beautifully with a simple salad of butter lettuce with a mild
vinaigrette. For those who might not enjoy a buttery Chardonnay, this
will become a favorite.
They offer a trio of Pinot Noirs for tasting. The 2012 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills had earthy aromas, cherry notes, and subtle oak flavors. The 2012 Eola Amity Hills Pinot Noir, tasted of black fruit with cola and chocolate notes. The 2013 Pinot Noirfrom Chehalem Mountain
exhibited bright red fruit with earthy notes. It was fun to compare and
contrast the three Pinot Noir’s each with a distinct personality and
flavor profile.
