'Everybody Loves Raymond' stars reunite to honor Doris Roberts

By Annie Martin The Everybody Loves Raymond cast paid tribute to late star Doris Roberts.
"Last night some old friends got together to raise a glass, and a plate of pasta, to #DorisRoberts. Lots of love," Rosenthal captioned a photo of the reunion Thursday.
Roberts played Marie Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, which had a nine-season run on CBS from 1996 to 2005. The character was wife to Frank (Peter Boyle), mom to Ray (Romano) and Robert (Brad Garrett) and pesky mother-in-law to Debra (Heaton).
"Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped," Romano said in a statement after the actress' death.
"Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly," he added.
Roberts reunited with her Everybody Loves Raymond co-stars in 2014 when the cast was inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame. She was scheduled to appear at the Everybody Loves Raymond 20th anniversary reunion in June.
