Keanu Reeves only has one word to describe the movie, Keanu: wacky.
The 51-year-old actor received CinemaCon's 2016
Vanguard Award, but there's another honor being bestowed upon him we
wanted to get his opinion about: the Key & Peele movie about a
gangster cat.
"That's pretty wacky. I was like, 'Fellas, don't you want to change the name?'" Reeves tells ET Canada's Matte Babel. "I have friends showing me pictures like, 'Look at the cat! And there's you!' I keep writing back, 'Wacky.'"
Many have assumed that Keanu is, at least in part, a parody of Reeves' movie, John Wick.
The latter is about a retired hitman who sets out to avenge his puppy
after she is killed by mobsters. The former is about Keegan-Michael Key
and Jordan Peele, setting out to find their pet kitten after she's
kidnapped by gangsters.
Either way, Reeves says he's excited to see it. "I
look forward to seeing the picture. I love those guys, I love their
humor," he reveals. "They got a great heart and spirit."
As for John Wick: Chapter Two, which will hit theaters in 2017, we're told it's "on another level."
"I think where the story goes is amazing. The
action is on another level," Reeves teases. "I think there's a really
cool story. John Wick suffers, which I love, because he keeps fighting.
It opens up the underworld a lot, so it's fun."
