A former
Home and Away actor has appeared in court facing sexual assault charges.Martin
Lynes, who portrayed Adam Sharpe on the hit soap, is accused of nine
offences related to the alleged attack, including having sexual
intercourse without consent, assault with an act of indecency, four
counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and three counts of
common assault.
The attack is said to have taken place in his home in Bateau Bay, New South Wales on February 29.
The 48-year-old, who also played Dr Luke Forlano on
All Saints, is said to have assaulted the woman after a dispute between the pair turned ugly.
"The
altercation allegedly escalated, during which the man sexually and
indecently assaulted the woman," a NSW police spokesperson said.
Police
were called to the home following the incident, but Lynes had already
left the property. The woman was taken to Gosford Hospital, and was
released the next morning.
The actor was arrested and charged in
the early hours of March 1, before appearing in court and being granted
conditional bail on the same day.
Lynes has previously appeared on Packed to the Rafters, Blue Water High and Police Rescue.
