The Houston Dash kicked off the 2016 NWSL season on the right foot with a 3-1 win over the Chicago Red Stars
in front of 7,440 fans at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas on
Saturday, April 16, 2016. It was Houston’s first-ever win over Chicago,

the first professional goal for the St. John’s University product in
her Houston debut. She was a first-round draft pick for the Dash and
became the Red Storm’s all-time leading scorer last season.

took a pass from Daly outside six-yard box and punched it past Naeher
for the score. It was the team captain’s fifth goal of her career for
Dash and her first of the year. Two minutes later, forward Janine Beckie got her first goal of the season off a pass from forward Kealie Ohai, to increase the Houston lead to two.
