Iggy Azalea has found herself embroiled in another rumored cheating scandal -- this time with the IRS.
The rapper had a tax lien placed against her to
the tune of $391,056.55 for unpaid income taxes from 2014 -- the year
her album, The New Classic, was released, which contained the hit singles "Fancy," "Black Widow," "Work," and "Change Your Life."
Although the 25-year-old singer isn't staying quiet about the news. In a series of messages on Twitter,
Azalea argued that the lien document, which ET has obtained, has been
reported out of context and that she's been paying the IRS on a monthly
basis.
She also claimed the reason the media is picking up the story is because her name's been in headlines over recent rumors of fiancé Nick Young's infidelity.
"Peep the way when one thing happens media
scrambles to keep adding on to the storyline, like a soap opera.
#IggyNovela," Azalea wrote.
"The IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldnt?" she tweeted.
She continued to say that she made the deal with
the IRS two months ago and that the media attention regarding her taxes
was "not even accurate" and is a result of desperation.
"Its like writing 'iggy pays a mortgage on her
house every month!' and trying to make it a story," she added. "Its not a
story. lol."
"[The media] are trying to make it into something
now because they were hoping some more nick mess would happen and now
that it hasnt and its getting boring they need 2 create something else,"
Azalea continued. "Its super corny, but i know the way it works this
time around and its expected."
Azalea perhaps summed up her emotions about the
tax lien news best when she tweeted, "*sits in dream house, f**ks dream
man, wears dream clothing, drives dream car, lives dream life*
baaaaiiiii lol."
Recently, Azalea's relationship with Young, 30, has been in the spotlight when the Los Angeles Lakers star was videotaped by teammate D'Angelo Russell in which Young apparently confesses to being unfaithful to Azalea. Check out the video below to hear how Azalea responded to the news.
