Willie Nelson will always be Jessica Simpson's "Uncle Jesse."
Simpson took some time out on Friday to wish the
legendary country singer a happy 83rd birthday, whom she bonded with
after the two starred together in 2005's The Dukes of Hazzard. Simpson played Daisy Duke in the movie version of the hit TV series to Nelson's Uncle Jesse.
"Happy Birthday Uncle Jesse," Simpson captioned an
Instagram pic of the two gazing at one another. "You are the best human
this lady knows. Are you even human? #willienelsonforpresident."

Nelson and Simpson have clearly kept in touch
since they sang together on Simpson's 2006 cover of Nancy Sinatra's
"These Boots Are Made for Walkin'." Aside from sharing the stage on
multiple occasions, Nelson also starred in Simpson's 2007 film, Blonde Ambition.
And while it may be more than a decade after
Simpson famously rocked daisy duke shorts on the big screen, it's safe
to say she's still got it. The 35-year-old fashion mogul flaunted her
washboard abs in a teeny bikini
and cutoff jean shorts late last month while on vacation with gal pals
CaCee Cobb and stylist Nicole Chavez, giving everyone 2005 flashbacks!
