Lisa Edelstein Almost Played Carrie Bradshaw

Lisa Edelstein, a famed and popular Hollywood actress that mostly showed off her skills on various iconic TV shows, revealed in a recent interview that she almost played one of the most iconic roles in modern television. The Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce star finally set the record straight regarding a rumor that has been around for quite some time.

The House M.D. alum was initially in the running to play Carrie Bradshaw on legendary Sex And The City, a character that can’t be imagined today played by anyone other than A-lister Sarah Jessica Parker.

When asked whether she was seriously considered to play the coveted role, the actress said that “it wasn’t a rumor- it actually happened.”

“I was either going to do it or not. It all depended on whether Sarah Jessica Parker said yes. My contract was complete. I was waiting,” Edelstein explained.

Don’t feel bad for Edelstein, though. The famed actress had a lot of roles in iconic shows like House, Castle, Felicity, The Good Wife, Scandal, and many others. However, the talented actress revealed that she “chose not to watch Sex And The City” during its run, because it was “too painful.”
