Actor Robert Downey
Jr has said that he has one more solo Iron Man movie in him. The
Sherlock Holmes star will be reprising the role of Tony Stark for the
seventh time in Captain America: Civil War. The highly anticipated film
is set to open in theatres in the UK on 29 April and on 6 May in the US.
"I feel like I could do one more," Downey said on ABC's
Nightline, when asked about whether he would play the superhero if Iron
Man 4 happens, according to MovieWeb.
In 2014, Downey had hinted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that
Iron Man 4 could happen but later clarified that he was not specifically
talking about Iron Man 4, but rather his return in Captain America:
Civil War. There is still a possibility that Iron Man 4 could happen as
Marvel is yet to disclose all of its plans for phase four, although it
has not been listed on the initial production list so far.
Iron Man fans, however, will get to see the actor in action in
Spider-Man: Homecoming. The movie is set to release in the US on 7 July
2017. As of now it is not known how substantial Stark's role will be in
the Spider-Man reboot. Moreover, Downey will dawn the metal armoured
suit for the Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 in 2018.In Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man and Captain America (Chris Evans) will be in conflict over whether to allow the government to take control of the Avengers after the superheroes' last assignment caused co-lateral damage. The Avengers will be divided on the issue and go on to form two teams, one supporting Iron Man and the other Captain America. While Stark would be in favour of the government controlling the Avengers, Steve Rogers will be against it.
