Ariel Winter may be Kim Kardashian’s new BFF. The ‘Modern Family’ actress just came to the reality star’s defense after actress Chloe Moretz dissed Kim’s naked, bathroom selfie, again. Keep reading to see what Ariel said to Chloe to totally stick up for Kim!
Remember when Kim Kardashian, 35, posted that epic, naked, mirror selfie on Instagram awhile back? Actresses Chloe Moretz, 19, and Ariel Winter, 18, are
actually feuding with each other over that specific nude photo now, and
it’s all because of their different views on celebs and women’s body
images. Here’s what we know about the ladies’ messy drama.
Chloe and Ariel’s intense shade all came about after Chloe was quick to critique Kim’s post
shortly after she put it online a few months ago. “I truly hope you
realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them
we have so much more to offer than just our bodies,” Chloe posted on Twitter, clearly aiming her response at Kim’s pic.
Kim shot back at Chloe and said that no one
even knows who she is, and of course, her fans followed. That’s when
Ariel came to Kim’s defense, too. “No one was body shaming @justinbieber
when he posted his nude guitar photo so why @KimKardashian?
#herbodyherchoice #InternationalWomensDay,” she Tweeted. Kim actually sent her flowers and a note for sticking up for her.
Now Ariel is speaking up again after Chloe went on about her Kim comment in a new interview with Glamour.
“I saw that photo, and I had to say something,” Chloe told the mag.
“That picture wasn’t linked to body confidence…It was done in a slightly
voyeuristic light, which I felt was a little inappropriate for young
women to see.” She went on to discuss her recent bikini picture, and
said it was different from Kim’s because “It wasn’t me sexualizing
myself. It was with a beautiful background.”
Ariel was quick to bite back to those
comments. “Many have asked about my opinion on a certain interview … all
I’m going to say is this: If you take a photo in which you feel
CONFIDENT about yourself and think it spreads a positive image, then GO
FOR IT,” she wrote on Instagram. “The
‘background’ doesn’t matter – what matters is the message you are
putting out there is true to what YOU believe in – not what anyone else
says about YOU. I do what I can to create a positive light for my fans
and I’m sure other celebrities are doing it in THEIR OWN WAY- no need to
put one another down. No picture is the exception to someone else’s
rule. Even if some people ‘known who they are.’ Live life on your own
terms.”
Obviously Ariel’s not afraid to follow in Kim’s footsteps, either. She has since posted pictures of herself in a bikini on Instagram, totally showing off her curves, too.
