Ding dong, “La Bruja Del Bloque” has been deactivated, twice!
After running a marathon of racism and homophobia against Zayn Malik, Azealia Banks has finally been suspended from using her Twitter account. Banks began her tirade on Instagram
by doing a side-by-side comparison of her images to those seen in
Malik’s “I Would” music video. Malik subtweeted her accusation, which
led to her spewing of a series of slurs, including “Punjabi,” “curry scented bitch”, and “f**got” to insult the half-Pakistani singer.
Malik confronted the “212” rapper—sending her
further into a tailspin—and all the meanwhile, her phone number was
leaked. Banks posted Malik’s email address and FaceTime information to
her account in retaliation, warranting a second Twitter battle with
Disney Star Skai Jackson and the cancellation of Banks’ headlining performance at a U.K. music festival.
Banks later apologized and “explained” that
she intended to hold Malik accountable as a fellow person of color
working in the music industry. This was not enough to sidestep Twitter’s
community rules
that condemn attacks on the basis of race, ethnicity, sexual
orientation, gender and more, and now, her handle has been shut down.
She still has Instagram though, and apparently has more material headed down the pipelines by this evening:
Update — May. 12, 3:22 p.m. ET: Like a phoenix from the trenches of the internet’s wasteland, Banks has risen to continue trolling with a new Twitter handle.
Rather than attacking another boy bander from the get-go, she’s first focusing on retweeting her supporters.
In fact, she feels like Twitter is a big Regina George.
