Duncan Garner remorseful and red-faced for nude coverage

“I can’t believe I saw that,” Story co-host Duncan Garner said on-air last night looking stunned.

His 7pm current affairs show Story had sent reporter Lachlan Forsyth to cover a stunt where radio station The Edge hosted a night of nude dining at a Hamilton restaurant.

But Garner was forced to make a red-faced apology to viewers after the show’s live cross to the restaurant mistakenly showed a male diner’s genitalia, and a naked waitress who walked in front of the camera providing viewers with a close-up of her crotch.

The image was not blurred.

Back in the studio, Garner and his co-host Vinnell were visibly shocked.

“I can’t believe I saw that,” he said.

“I can’t believe we’re doing this,” Vinnell added.

Luckily an ad break intervened, and the live cross segment came back later in the show but no genitalia was visible.

Garner, ever the professional, “genuinely apologised” to viewers, saying they “saw too much”.

Earlier in the story he remarked: “I’m just a little worried, there’s so much that can go wrong.”

Turns out his prophecy was not wrong.
