Kendall Jenner mysteriously dismisses $10 million lawsuit against skin care company she accused of using her face in ads without her permission

Kendall Jenner has dismissed her massive $10million legal battle against a skin treatment company who she accused of illegally profiting off her lucrative face by featuring her in advertisements without permission.

 

Court documents don’t explain why the Keeping Up with The Kardashians star threw out her case on Tuesday, but she dismissed the suit without prejudice.

In February, Kendall filed a federal lawsuit against skin treatment company Cutera, who she claimed used her face and name to advertise their Laser Genesis treatment for acne.

The company’s advertisements claimed their treatments were the reason for Kendall’s ‘flawless skin’.

The ad in question featured a picture of Kendall and claimed the company’s treatments improved her skin.

'Acne "completely ruined" Kendall Jenner's self-esteem,' the ad read.

Kendall, however, said she never did a deal to promote the company, and claimed she would charge well into the eight figures for a similar endorsement.

In addition to being the face of Estee Lauder, the lawsuit points out Kendall has been on the cover of fashion magazines around the world, and would typically earn at least eight figures to pose as the face of a product.

Kendall explained in her complaint that her face and likeness are worth money, pointing out that she has graced the cover of fashion magazines such as ‘Vogue, Vogue Paris, Vogue Japan, Vogue Brazil, Harper's Bazaar (shot by Karl Lagerfeld), Allure, GQ, Glamour, Marie Claire, LOVE, Interview, Paper, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, Cleo, Garage, Dazed, Raine and BLANK.'

The complaint said Kendall was a widely successful model and had numerous other endorsements.

Cutera had not yet publicly responded to the allegations when Kendall dropped the lawsuit.

Kendall has previously said she that Laser Genesis treatment helped cure her acne, which was once so bad that she refused to make eye contact with people.

The model and reality star opened up late last year about her struggle with acne and the toll it took on her confidence.

'It completely ruined my self-esteem,' she wrote on her app and website KendallJ.com.

'I wouldn't even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face.'

Her lawsuit did not dispute whether or not she ever used the acne treatment, but rather stated that she was not paid for use of her image to promote the treatment.
