Matthew McConaughey Brings His Southern Charm to the ‘Free State of Jones’ Photo Call

Matthew McConaughey has lost his beard and gained several pounds for his latest film role.

 

The Oscar-winner mugged with his co-stars to promote the new Civil War drama.

Matthew McConaughey is on the promotional campaign for his new film Free State of Jones. The story follows Newton Knight, a Mississippi farmer who leads a rebellion against the Confederate army in 1862.

The 46-year-old actor, along with fellow cast members Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mahershala Ali and director Gary Ross, assembled at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, California for the film’s photo call.

McConaughey looked classy and casual in a suit minus the tie, but Mbatha-Raw stole the show in a sleeveless, floral patterned dress.
