While the 2016 Met Gala red carpet may be over, let the memes begin! There are some hilarious ones already hitting the Twittersphere, especially about Zayn Malik resembling the Winter Soldier and Kim Kardashian’s large silver derriere looking like a blown up tin of Jiffy pop!
Now that we know who the best and worst dressed celebs at the Met Gala are, we’re getting our first taste of the priceless memes to come out of the big event! Kim Kardashian‘s giant silver rump and Zayn Malik‘s arms of armor are already the biggest hits on social media.
With the theme of the night being “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” many stars took that to mean wearing shiny silver outfits and accessories
and that made for plenty of crazy comparisons on Twitter. From
everything to Hershey’s Kisses to robots, our favorite stars had some
fun poked at their red carpet outfits.
With outfits to even hairstyles, the more futuristic celebrities
would try to be, it seemed the more they got called out for trying to
embrace the look of the evening. Hands down Zayn was everyone’s choice
for ribbing, with his shiny metal arm sleeves
being compared to everything from the Winter Soldier to a Mortal Kombat
character to even Robocop! We thought he looked super stylish, but the
internet just couldn’t help themselves when it came to finding laughs at
the singer’s expense. .
Kim’s giant badonkadonk in her skin-tight shiny silver gown looked like Jiffy Pop popcorn ready to burst according to the Twittershpere and it soon took off as a meme.
Met Gala co-chair Taylor Swift‘s futuristic silver mini dress with a layered hem got compared to one of our favorite chocolate treats!
Lupita Nyong’o‘s green Calvin Klein dress was lovely, but her giant antenna of a hairstyle made for some good jokes.
