The annual Red Nose Day telethon kicked off on Thursday night and a simply ludicrous number celebrities
(including Ludacris himself) turned out to support the cause. The live
event -- hosted by Craig Ferguson -- featured in-person appearances and
pre-recorded segments all while big-name stars worked the phone banks.
The star-studded evening, dedicated to raising
funds for a number of charities focused on children's health and
welfare, raised an astonishing $30.7 million by the end of the two-hour
event. To celebrate the impressive fundraiser, here's a look at the six
moments that made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside (or at least had the
biggest laughs).
1. Paul Rudd & Blake Griffin
The Ant-Man star challenged the NBA pro
to shoot as many three-pointers as possible in three minutes, and
pledged to donate $5,000 for every successful shot. After seven
successful throws in 30 seconds, Rudd realized he might be in trouble.
2. Tracy Morgan's Snow White
The former 30 Rock star sat down in his old-timey study to tell the tale of Snow White
to a group of young children, and things went about as well as you'd
imagine. There needs to be a show where Morgan just re-tells old fairy
tales from memory, because it would be amazing.
3. The Celebrity Medley
Some of the biggest names in Hollywood came
together to share a special message about compassion, which eventually
devolved into the stars competing for screen time and arguing about who
deserves to say the most about love and charity based on their relative
levels of fame.
4. Jack Black Gives Back
The Goosebumps star got a special message
from a kid whose life he changed through charity work. But it turns out
that, while thankful, Black's young friend isn't a huge fan of his more
recent films.
5. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
The super-cute couple showed up for the important
cause, and actually did the hard work of answering calls in the phone
bank. You gotta love their commitment to charity (and how adorable they
are together).
6. (Not-So-)Scary Dudes
While Danny Trejo, Steve Buscemi and Iwan Rheon
might play violent, murderous lunatics on TV, in real life they are
kind-hearted softies who just want to share love and joy with the world
-- and now they finally got a chance to sing about it!
