‘The Vampire Diaries’: Nina Dobrev Returns For The Season 7 Finale

Oh my god! The ‘Vampire Diaries’ season finale on May 13 totally shocked us when Damon heard Elena’s voice in the vault, but what’s even more shocking is that Nina Dobrev physically returned to set to record the sound bite.

That was crazy! Nina Dobrev, 27, or at least her voice, made a surprise appearance in the 7th season finale of The Vampire Diaries on May 13, and executive producer Julie Plec explained in a new interview that that isn’t an old sound clip you’re hearing! Nina actually came into the studio to record the sound bites. We have the full interview, right here.
Guys, we’re still trying to recover from what we witnessed on the season 7 finale of The Vampire Diaries! Damon hearing Elena’s voice was the most emotional moment we’ve seen in a while, and it literally sent shivers down our spine when we heard “Damon… Help me… I need you.” TEARS!
Of course, it all turned out to be a nasty trick by the sketchy villain of the vault, but it still gave us all the feels. And the best part is that Nina actually went on set to record the new sound bites, even though it would have been just as easy to pull the basic phrases from old footage.
“In this particular case, she came in and did the ADR, [short for automated dialogue replacement],” executive producer Julie Plec tells TVLine. “I reached out and said, ‘We can either cobble it together from a bunch of episodes, or you can come in and see everybody and do ADR. She chose to do it in person, which was great, because it was a nice little personal Nina visit.” So cool to have Nina back on the show, even if it is just her voice.
HollywoodLifers – what do you think of Nina coming in to the studio to record her voice? Did it add a little something extra special to the finale? Share your thoughts with us!
