Three more cases of coronavirus were today announced in Western Australia.
The two men and a woman, aged in their 30s and 50s, had arrived from overseas and are now self-isolating at home.
"We can conclude that there has been no community-based transmission of the virus to date, and that is an important aspect of what we are trying to achieve here," WA Health Minister Roger Cook said at a press conference this afternoon.
"Making sure that we can continue to control the speed and the scope of the spread of this virus as much as possible.
"Every day we do that, we flatten the curve, we push out the peak of this epidemic, and we reduce the number of people who will be impacted by the COVID-19 virus."
Contact tracing is underway. It's understood today's new cases were returning home from the US,
Canada and Indonesia.
The total number of affected West Australians stands at 17, almost double that of two days ago.
Premier Mark McGowan today said closing the borders was unfeasible.
"A single rule in which no one can ever travel overseas is unworkable and doesn't allow Australians to come home," he said.
