One cook at a Florida Chili’s restaurant is learning the hard way that attempting to “bring sexy back” while on the job will not only go unappreciated by management, but it will also get you fired. The cook was terminated from his position at the Chili’s in Valrico, Florida, after the shirtless man, who goes by “J-Speeksz” posted the photos of himself on Facebook with the title: “Sexy Cooks Of Chili’s.”
“Chili’s clearly does not encourage this type of behavior in our restaurants. We maintain very high standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness and took immediate steps to ensure the restaurant continues to follow these requirements,” the restaurant said in their statement. “Additionally, we ended this team member’s employment after learning of his conduct.”Although the pictures were shown to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, they stated that photos did not appear to violate any standards since no food was being prepared during the time of the photos.
Soon after the incident, the Florida Chili’s was the subject of a surprise inspection from the health department. The restaurant passed with no critical violations.
One concerned Chili’s customer stated in an interview with local news:
“In some things I think ignorance is bliss. If you know what is going on, I don’t think you would ever eat out to be honest with you.”Luckily for the terminated cook, he appears to have a backup career as a rapper. And with this incident, maybe he will have some inspiration for some new tracks!
