It’s not impossible to be a Christian in Hollywood, but it
certainly isn’t easy. As the liberal agenda sweeps through the theaters
and out T.V. screens, it seems more and more difficult to find a
celebrity who hasn’t sold their soul to the devil. However, there are
still some who aren’t afraid to let their light shine — even at the cost
of their fame and fortune.
10. Pierce Brosnan
The 007 heart-throb may be best remembered for his role as a womanizing secret agent in the James Bond
series, but the actor revealed that tragedy brought him closer to God.
After the death of his wife, Cassandra Harris, and daughter, Charlotte
Brosnan, the grieving star admits that it was his faith in God that
pulled him through.
Not only is “The Rock” an admitted Republican, he’s just as
bold in proclaiming his relationship with God as he is in his “tough
guy” personas onscreen. With such an anti-Christian upper crust, it’s
refreshing to find someone so influential who has an equally humble
faith.
8. Tyler Perry
Best known for portraying a gun-toting granny in his Madea
franchise, many of Perry’s movies, plays, and television shows contain
underlying Christian themes. However, the director/actor wasn’t always
welcomed into Hollywood. In fact, Perry was told he “can’t say the name
Jesus” in a sitcom, to which he responded by becoming one of the biggest
names in comedy.
7. Kevin James
Kevin James may have become popular through his charming slapstick routines in the Paul Blart: Mall Cop
films, but the fresh success hasn’t gone to his head. In fact, the
lovable actor revealed that he always tries to glorify God in his new
movies.
6. Tim Allen
As everyone’s favorite tool man, Allen is not only a staunch
conservative, he publicly declared that God is the ultimate “Builder.”
He expounded upon his reasoning by adding, “Whoever built me, this is
too much, too weird that it happened by accident,” he said. “It didn’t
happen by accident.”
5. Steve Carell
4. Tom Hanks
Raised as a Greek-Orthodox Christian, the mega-star is living proof that no matter how big you get on this earth, you’re never bigger than your Creator. When asked if he believes in God, Hanks responded, “You’ll be foolish not to believe in God.”
3. Carrie Underwood
This country music star’s hit song Jesus Take the Wheel wasn’t just a sales pitch. The gorgeous singer has no shame in proclaiming her faith and dedication to Jesus Christ, telling her critics that “if you don’t like it, change the channel.”
2. Chris Pratt
As a highly successful actor and new father, Pratt has good reason to
thank God, and he isn’t ashamed to do it in an interview. The Jurassic World actor admits that he restored his faith in God and has a closer relationship with the Creator than ever.
This hunky actor has a habit of rubbing liberals the wrong
way, but never as much as when he gushed over his Lord and Savior in his
Oscar acceptance speech. McConaughey seems to be the epitome of a
southern Christian gentleman.
While Hollywood doesn’t glorify God for the most part, there
are still those who have proven that we can be in the world and not of
the world. As movies like War Room, The List, 90 Minutes in Heaven, and many others hit the box office this year, Christianity in Hollywood is making a big comeback, and it’s definitely an answer to prayers.
