Pope Francis has long been known to be more left-leaning
with socialist ideologies, especially in light of his statements
regarding gun manufacturers in June. He has reportedly been interpreted
as saying gun manufactures cannot call themselves Christians. Based on
his statements, no other conclusion could be drawn but that the Pope
detests guns and wants gun manufacturers to cease calling themselves
Christian. Now, the Pope is once again making his stance on guns
ownership known, and his point of view won’t be appreciated by most
American gun owners and Second Amendment supporters.
The leader of the Roman Catholic faith is most obviously not
a gun owner, but what are the Pope’s cryptic words saying to us all and
especially to gun owners? What does the Pope think of us based on
interpretations of his speech to Congress yesterday?
The Pope addresses Congress
According to The Intercept,
Pope Francis said the following, while addressing the Congress of the
United States — a country beholden (or should be) to the Second
Amendment rights of its citizens:
“Here we have to ask ourselves: Why are deadly weapons being sold to those who plan to inflict untold suffering on individuals and society? Sadly, the answer, as we all know, is simply for money: money that is drenched in blood, often innocent blood. In the face of this shameful and culpable silence, it is our duty to confront the problem and to stop the arms trade.”
One can interpret the Pope’s words as to be indicative of
war, but if that were the case, he should take exception to the American
government, which is a large supplier of arms across the globe. Yet, he
seems to be more than likely talking down to the American gun owner.
This is evidenced by the gun control activists immediately seizing the Pope’s statements and turning them into more excuses for gun control laws.
The Pope is appearing to say that if you own a gun, you have the blood
of innocents on your hands and the government should continue to
regulate your rights. Again, that is a personal interpretation of the
Pope’s actual wording. Read it again, and draw your own conclusions.
It’s important to also realize that the Pope has generally
been anti gun in his statements. His comments never appear to be geared
toward a tyrannical government, but rather a civilian populace. Please,
read his quote again and decide for yourself. It is our job to give you
the information, but it is your job to dissect it and come to a rational
conclusion. Many are calling this Pope a false prophet, but you decide
based on what you’ve read.
