The owners of Kyhber Pass kebab shop have been found guilty of serving up more than what their customers ordered.
One restaurant run by a Muslim staff has been busted for a
sickening practice, after over 140 people fell ill after consuming from
their menu. After hearing the testimonies of Mohammad Abdul Basit and
Amjab Bhatti, a judge was appalled at the horrific methods by which the
restaurant owners were running their business.
The BBC
reports that the pair pleaded guilty to breaching food hygiene
regulations at The Khyber Pass in Nottingham, which caused 142 people to
become ill, including a child who nearly died in a hospital.
The Pakistani kebab shop owners were found guilty of
transferring fecal matter onto customers’ food because of refusing to
wash their hands after defecating. Charges included selling food unfit
for human consumption, inadequate hand washing facilities, and poor
personal hygiene of food workers.
Nottingham City Council discovered that customers had
contracted a very rare strain of E. coli, a painful and sometimes deadly
virus passed on through human feces. Because E. coli is only found in
the human digestive tract, inspectors concluded that the outbreak was
spread by eating food contaminated with fecal waste.
Amjad Bhatti (left) and Mohammad Abdul Basit (right) were sentenced in court for infecting 142 people with E. coli.
The particular strain is so rare that this outbreak is only the second of its kind in Europe.“You realise the way it was transmitted was by use of incorrect hand washing after using the lavatory to defecate,” said prosecutor Bernard Thorogood. “A cough can’t do it, a handshake could if it’s an infected hand which means it was not washed after using the lavatory.”
At least 9 of the 12 staff members who handled the food were found to have the bacteria on their person. The same strain of E. coli was found by investigators in lettuce prepared by the employees at the takeaway.“One or two individuals indicate they have never felt so ill and thought they were going to die,” said Judge Jeremy Lea. “Some of them were made so unwell they had to go to hospital and one 13-year-old was so unwell the medical evidence was clear that notwithstanding medical treatment, she may well have died.”
The Mirror reports that Basit and Bhatti will each serve four-month suspended prison sentences, complete 250 hours of unpaid work, and must pay $300 to every victim, as well as paying over $39,000 in court costs.
Nine out of the 12 workers have tested positive for traces of E. coli on their hands.
Instead of using toilet paper, many countries require citizens to use water and their bare left hands to clean themselves after defecating. Although users should always wash their hands thoroughly after, bacteria may remain behind on the person’s left hand.
In most of these countries, it is illegal to use the left
hand for eating, handshaking, or touching of the mouth and face. The
left hand is to be used for things considered to be unclean, which proves a danger when non-Muslims come into contact with Muslims. The Quran equates unbelievers with being as filthy as “apes and pigs and slaves,” and to touch a non-Muslim would be like touching pork.
Because Muslims consider unbelievers to be filthy and
subhuman, it isn’t uncommon for them to use their left hands in ordeals
with kaffirs. Instead of being a purposeful insult, Muslims see this as a
deserved offering of the already unclean left hand, keeping their right
hand from being contaminated by dirty infidels.
Perhaps the pair were simply spreading jihad as a biological
warfare against unbelievers. Whatever the reason for such disgusting
abandon of civilized cleanliness, it’s enough for any infidel to stay
far away from Islamic eateries.
