Toddler Burned In Scalding Hot Water, Babysitter Gives Unbelievable Excuse

It’s hard for parents to find the perfect babysitter, and sometimes they choose the wrong one. For a set of parents in Florida, they learned the hard way that the babysitter they hired was the wrong fit for any child, when their child was burned in scalding hot water. What’s even more unbelievable than the injuries sustained while in the sitter’s care is the excuse he gave to them.
As punishment for wetting the bed, Rayvond Williams allegedly put a 2-year-old boy in scalding hot water that resulted in the child suffering serious burns that left his skin peeling off. The sadistic sitter offers an explanation for the injuries. However, no one is buying it.

Marion County Sheriff’s office believes that Williams dunked the toddler into hot water for longer than five minutes. To make matters worse, doctors have concluded that the boy was forcefully submerged in the scalding water, causing burns on his arms, hands, legs, backside, and genitalia. In addition, he even suffered scratches on his face and head, according to Opposing Views. “Eighty percent of the injuries were third-degree burns, said doctors, who added that the boy will need skin graphs on his feet and buttocks,” Click Orlando further reported.
While Williams admits to putting the toddler in water, he has quite the unbelievable excuse for how the burns occurred. Williams explained to police that he had placed the boy in the tub, but claims that he only turned the water on warm and then told the boy to bathe himself. When someone knocked on the door, Williams states that he left the boy unattended and believes the toddler must have changed the water temperature on his own, thus alleging the burns were accidental. As for the scratches on his face and head, Williams claimed that he must have “slipped and hit his head.”
It doesn’t seem his explanation got him off the hook for his actions, as Rayvond Williams has since been arrested for cruelty toward a child and aggravated child abuse. Although some may think Williams’ story is possible, “Doctors said the boy’s injuries were not caused by an accident and appeared to be consistent with an immersion burn,” according to Click Orlando.
Either way, he is at fault, considering he wrongfully left the boy alone in the tub if we were to believe his story. If you know anything about caring for children, one of the first things you learn is to not leave a child unattended in the bathtub. So, his unlikely excuse still doesn’t clear him of wrongdoing.
When parents are trusting you to watch their children, you should respect that trust and do everything you can to keep those children safe. Unfortunately, Williams didn’t follow that unwritten rule according to his own story, and now a poor 2-year-old boy has suffered from his supposed lack of responsibility.
However, as the charges indicate, this wasn’t just a lapse in judgment — this babysitter enacted a brutal and deliberate punishment on a toddler. He shouldn’t be around children, and since there’s none in prison, that sounds like the perfect place for him… Maybe his showers there will show him what it’s like when bath time turns into a painful event.
