Ever since the first GOP debate, presidential candidate
Donald Trump has been at odds with Fox News because he doesn’t feel as
if he’s been treated right by the network. The feud seemed to die off
for a bit, but an announcement he made Wednesday morning took a lover’s
quarrel and turned it into a nuclear war.
For the past two days, Trump has been taking shots at Fox
via Twitter, and he hasn’t really been holding back. Nobody on the
network has been safe, but he appeared to have singled out his
“favorite” host in two blistering tweets.
Do you ever notice that lightweight @megynkelly constantly goes after me but when I hit back it is totally sexist. She is highly overrated!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2015
I think @megynkelly should take another eleven day "unscheduled" vacation.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2015
Prior to going after Kelly, Trump accused the network of
supporting left-wing candidates, although he didn’t specify which
candidates.
"@glendabelle_11: @FoxNews Fox has become a supporter of Liberals! They are Not supporting the GOP candidates-especially Trump! Quit watching— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 22, 2015
I am having a really hard time watching @FoxNews.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 22, 2015
He also slammed a fan favorite on Fox, Bill O’Reilly, for his selection of guests.
.@oreillyfactor, why don't you have some knowledgeable talking heads on your show for a change instead of the same old Trump haters. Boring!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 22, 2015
Apparently, this was all leading up to a nuclear
announcement by Trump. This morning, he declared that if you want to see
him on television, it’s not going to be on Fox any longer.
.@FoxNews has been treating me very unfairly & I have therefore decided that I won't be doing any more Fox shows for the foreseeable future.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2015
That’s huge. However, he didn’t specify what he wanted to see happen in order for him to return.
For the most part, Trump seemed to receive support for his
decision, with many people saying they already quit watching the network
long ago. A lot of people have noticed that Fox has become rather
critical of Trump with the exception of a couple of hosts, so it stands
to reason that he would stop appearing on the network.
But what do you think, was this a smart move?
